This doll was copyrighted / released in 1980 / 1981.  To see other dolls from this 1981, click here.  She has the Western / Winking head mold.  She is the only doll with this head, THANK THE STARS.  She supposedly has a winking eye feature, but the eye doesn’t wink so well, and this feature doesn’t explain why the non-winking eye always has the eyelid peeled away.  She is one of, if not THE, scariest Barbie dolls.  To see the Western Barbie series, click here.  This doll was made in Taiwan and shares a number (1757) with 1983 Horse Lovin’ Barbie.

In Europe, this doll was sensibly released without the winking eye feature.  Instead, she features the Superstar head (both the mold and the face-up).  However, her ears are not pierced.  She has Busy arms and a Living Barbie body style so she can clasp objects (& tip her hat & grab her horse’s reigns).  She comes with an extra skirt but without the brush/comb accessories.  She was also made in Taiwan.

Western Barbie was also released in Spain by Congost under license from Mattel.
