The Playful Babies were initially sold in mystery sets of four. Four standard versions of each baby were produced (each character was created in four different colors). In the original mystery bundles, buyers would receive one of each color and character, but it was a mystery which character they would receive in which color. It was later possible to purchase the babies individually. All the babies were also created in a flocked version. These versions were much more limited in number (no more than 100 of each version exist). If you include the flocked versions of the babies, eight total variations exist of each baby.
