The Wedding Day series commemorates the wedding of Midge and Alan after several decades of courtship (though Alan spelled his name “Allan” in the 60s). To see other Wedding Day dolls, click here. Wedding Day Kelly & Todd came packaged as a release together and in a multipack with the full bridal party.
The dolls in this set are the first use of these head and body molds. While the girl doll in this set is named Kelly, future dolls in this style will become known as Stacie (and friends). The name Kelly is most associated with a smaller sister of Barbie who is introduced after Stacie… and eventually gets disappeared under mysterious circumstances. The name Todd was previously used in the 60s as a brother of Barbie. He had a twin Tutti, who, like Kelly, seems to have gotten snapped out of existence.
