This doll was copyrighted / released in 1991.  To see other dolls from 1991, click here.  The Teen Talk dolls are the first doll to use the Teen Talk head mold.  To see other dolls with this head mold, click here.  To see other Teen Talk dolls, click here.  Due to the volume of Teen Talk dolls, this page is dedicated to the Redhead / Strawberry Blonde variations.  Even though they share the same stock number (#5745), the Brunette and Blonde variations are featured on their own pages.

As the name implies, Teen Talk dolls are talking dolls and each doll can say four phrases about school, shopping, parties, and activities (out of a sample of 270 possible phrases).  Unfortunately, one of those phrases was “Math class is tough,” which was controversial and led to a bit of a recall / manufacturer exchange situation.  The Teen Talk dolls came in several different language-speaking variations (English, German, Italian, etc).

The Redhead Teen Talk doll could come in four different outfits (blue hat, teal hat, pink hat, black hat) and four different faces (blue, blue-pink, green, and purple).  Unlike the Blonde variation, the Redhead only came with one hair style (hair loose w/ accent braid).  Based on research we have determined that each face wore each color outfit.

Therefore, there are technically sixteen possible Redhead Teen Talk combinations.
